But despite the obvious difference in class, Chelsea faced resistance in both of their meetings in the Emirates. In the semi-finals, the Blues defeated Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia (1-0) with a minimal advantage, and in the decisive match they beat the owner of the Libertadores Cup, Palmeiras, with great difficulty. Regular time ended in a draw 1:1 (Romelu Lukaku scored against the British and Rafael Veiga from Palmeiras), and in overtime the final score was set by Kai Havertz with an accurate penalty kick - 2:1.

It should be noted that the last Club World Cup was the last in which the competitions were held in the usual format. From the next draw, the tournament will replace the Confederations Cup, and 24 of the best teams on the planet will take part in it - eight from Europe, six from South America, three each from Africa, Asia and Central America and one club from Oceania.
