The eSports tournament Cyber ​​Defender of the Fatherland was held in Moscow

In Moscow, on Defender of the Fatherland Day, the Open Cup VK e-sports tournament on the Warface game was held with a prize fund of 2 million rubles.

As part of the VK Open Cup, a series of open esports tournaments among Warface players took place from February 17 to February 23. More than 300 teams from Russia and the CIS countries took part in the event, and only four teams reached the final.

The final of the competition was held on February 23 in Moscow in the format of a LAN tournament. The live broadcast of the competition was watched by more than 3 million viewers.

The victory in the VK Open Cup was won by the Infanteria team — their winnings amounted to 1 million rubles. Second place was taken by the MajorTeam team, which got a prize of half a million rubles. The Repulse and Fleisch teams, which took the third and fourth places respectively, received 250 thousand rubles each. The guests of the tournament were streamers Slava Buster and Amina Tenderlybae.

Esports teams from Russia and the CIS countries with any level of training can take part in Open Cup VK tournaments. The Warface game competition was the first event in the VK Open Cup series - the company plans to hold such events on an annual basis.

The tactical first-person shooter Warface, available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, was chosen as the game for the esports tournament. To date, Warface has over 120 million registered users worldwide.
