Russia - The court fined a resident of Arkhangelsk for the rehabilitation of Nazism

Russia (bbabo.net), - The Arkhangelsk Regional Court found a 24-year-old resident of the capital of Pomorye guilty of rehabilitating Nazism and fined him 250,000 rubles.

As reported in the regional IC, on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the Victory, an Arkhangelsk citizen posted questionnaires with data and photographs of Nazi criminals under the guise of veterans of the Great Patriotic War on the Internet platform of the federal action "Immortal Regiment".

The criminal case was initiated on the materials of the RUFSB. The press secretary of the regional court, Ksenia Solovieva, said that the publication of information about the Nazis on the portal was stopped by a moderator - a volunteer of the Immortal Regiment movement.

During the investigation and in court, the accused pleaded guilty and repented.

The regional court also explained that this year the punishment for the rehabilitation of Nazism was toughened. Such a crime is now punishable by a fine of up to three million rubles or in the amount of wages for a period of up to three years, or forced labor or imprisonment for the same period.

The verdict did not enter into force.
