A shell hit a cargo ship in the Black Sea

One person was injured when a shell fell on the Japanese cargo ship Namura Queen in the Black Sea. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Kyodo agency.

According to the agency, 20 crew members were on board the Panama-flagged vessel at the time of the incident. A Filipino citizen was injured. He had an injured shoulder. There is no threat to his life.

Now the ship is heading towards Turkey, where damage will be assessed.

The day before, the chemical tanker Millenial Spirit, sailing under the Moldovan flag, came under fire in the Black Sea. Due to a shell hit, a fire broke out on board, equipment and lifeboats were destroyed by fire. The crew, consisting of Russian citizens, left the tanker in life jackets.

The Moldavian maritime agency later reported that they had all been rescued. According to the department, the Ukrainian authorities carried out a rescue operation to save the team. Two crew members are in critical condition.
