Russian businessman sold Hitler's parade car

Australian businessman and politician Clive Palmer has purchased a 1939 Mercedes-Benz armored car from a Russian billionaire, News.com.au reports citing Australia's The Courier Mail. This model was used as the front car of Adolf Hitler.

The name of the previous owner of the Mercedes-Benz 770 Grosser Offener Tourenwagen, known as the "Super Mercedes", was not disclosed, as was the amount of the transaction. Negotiations to buy a car lasted two years.

After the end of World War II, the car was seized in France by the US military before it was bought by an American billionaire. In the following decades, the car changed owners several times. In total, from 1930 to 1944, about two hundred copies of the Mercedes-Benz 770 were produced.

"Super Mercedes" will be one of the exhibits of the Clive Palmer Rare Car Museum. It is noted that in his collection there is also a Rolls-Royce, which belonged to the English King Edward VIII. The Australian businessman expects that his museum will have about six hundred cars.
