Driver data will be kept by toll road operators for three years

The Ministry of Transport will oblige toll road operators to store travel data for three years. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to the new edition of the rules for charging fees. It is expected that the document will come into force on September 1, 2022.

Now the toll road operator can receive data on travel time, as well as photos of numbers, car and driver. According to the updated rules, operators will be required to register passages without filming drivers, while access to all information for third parties should be excluded.

It is also planned to legally fix the deposit of money into the account in the Avtodor system as a fact of concluding an agreement that obliges the motorist to pay for travel on the highway. Now the contract is concluded automatically when the driver enters the track and pays (or purchases or rents a transponder).

It is believed that new rules are being developed in connection with the spread of the barrier-free free-flow system. It operates only on the Central Ring Road (TsKAD), but it is also planned to be launched on the M-12 and M-4 highways. As part of the system, money is debited from the account using transponders or through a camera using a license plate number.

Earlier it was reported that from February 25, the fare on the toll roads of Avtodor increased.
