The WHO announced the dates of the inspection at the production of Sputnik V

The World Health Organization will be ready to inspect the production of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus infection Sputnik V in February 2022. This was announced during a briefing by the director of regulation and retraining of the WHO, Rogerio Gaspar, TASS reports.

According to him, RDIF promised to send the necessary documents regarding the quality and production of the vaccine by the end of this month. The second package of documents should be sent to the organization by the end of January 2022.

“We now have two deadlines for filing documents. Part of the documents will be sent by December 30th and the final part of the documents by the end of January. So we hope that the applicant will complete the filing by the end of January, ”Gaspar said.

Russia became the first country in the world to register a vaccine against COVID-19. The drug was developed by NITsEM named after Gamaleya together with the Russian Direct Investment Fund and was named "Sputnik V". Subsequently, the vaccines "EpiVacCorona", "KoviVak", "Sputnik Light" and "EpiVacCorona-N" were registered.

Earlier, the head of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, Hans Kluge, said that the organization could approve the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in the first quarter of next year.
