The Muslim burger is gone. The supplier of fish for File-o-fish left the Russian Federation

The Danish fishery company Espersen, which supplied products for the Russian McDonald's, is closing its plant in Veliky Novgorod and exiting the Russian market.

“We have decided to close. We'd rather use our powers elsewhere. Doing business in Russia in the coming years will be extremely difficult,” said Beyer Nielsen, director of the organization, quoted by TASS.

A Danish company opened a food processing plant in Veliky Novgorod in 2014. The production facility produced semi-finished products from seafood, among which were the ingredients for the Fillet-o-fish burger. Accordingly, the fish hamburger will not be available on the menu of McDonald’s successor in Russia “Vkusno – and that’s it.”

It should be noted that “File-o-fish” has always been a favorite product of Muslim visitors in the list of Russian McDonald’s fast food, as it does not contain meat. Recall that Islam prohibits the use of not only pork, but also any other meat slaughtered without mentioning the formula “in the name of the Almighty” and bleeding.
