It is noted that 28-year-old Thompson, along with other participants in the riots, shouted obscene words at law enforcement officers and threw various objects at them, for example, a flagpole, and also snatched a shield from one of the police officers.

On January 6, supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the building of the US Congress, interrupting a meeting at which parliament was supposed to approve the results of the last elections. As a result of the incident, five people died, among them - a protester shot by the police and a Capitol police officer.
