Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government Pyotr Biryukov said that the specialists of the Municipal Economy Complex have completed the decoration of the city for the New Year holidays.

“At present, the decoration of the capital has been completed, and the festive lighting has been activated. In total, more than 4 thousand volumetric decorative structures were installed, including light tunnels and arches, garland sheds, giant Christmas balls. Squares, streets, parks and squares throughout the city were decorated with over 1,000 fir trees, "Biryukov said.

He noted that New Year's trees were decorated with colorful balls, stars, luminous garlands and other decorations. The largest spruces, about 25 meters high, were installed on Lubyanskaya and Slavyanskaya squares, as well as on Poklonnaya Gora.

“Modern energy-saving equipment based on LEDs is used to decorate the city. Such lamps consume ten times less electricity, are safe and are designed to work in any weather conditions, "Biryukov said.

The deputy mayor added that the designs used for decoration are redecorated in accordance with the date and symbols of the holiday.

“In recent years, a sufficient supply of festive elements has been formed, which makes it possible to provide a full-fledged decoration of the city. All lighting and decorative structures are multifunctional, with the ability to reuse and change their appearance, "Biryukov concluded.
