“The new waves are caused by the ability to mutate. New strains are emerging where there are health problems and low vaccination rates. That is why I am talking about the mutual recognition of vaccines and the distribution of vaccines, otherwise we will not be able to cope with this problem. A term appeared - excess mortality. That's just terrible. The mortality rate from covid is difficult to calculate, not because something is hiding, everything is open, but because our country has a low vaccination rate - 59.4% - therefore, a high mortality rate, ”Putin said.

As for measures against anti-axers and punishment for refusing to vaccinate, then, according to the president, there is no need to put pressure on such a category of citizens, but patiently explain the position.

“As soon as you start pushing, the citizens will find a way to get around [the prohibitions]. We need to respect people despite their position and patiently explain their position, ”the president said.
