The Southern District Health Board has apologised after it accidentally sent the private health details of 60 patients to a member of the public.

An Invercargill woman affected by the privacy breach said she was embarrassed her health details had got into the hands of someone who had no right to know her business.

"I feel really annoyed that someone's incompetence has allowed this to happen," she said.
