Russia (bbabo.net), - In Kabardino-Balkaria, they announced the damage caused to the residents of Russia by the financial pyramid that operated in the region in 2020. According to the prosecutor of the republic Nikolai Khabarov, preliminary damage in 94 criminal cases amounted to 911.7 million rubles. He announced this at a press conference on December 24.

- In the case of the pyramid in our republic alone, 40 criminal cases have been initiated, 54 more cases have been received from the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, initiated in 15 regions of Russia. The preliminary damage caused by members of the organized crime group in all 94 cases is 911.7 million rubles, - said Khabarov, quoted by TASS.

The financial pyramid originated in the CBD in July 2020. Then a certain Elina published on social networks a proposal for a profitable "investment" with a promise of income of 60-250 percent in 30 days. As in any pyramid scheme, the first depositors received money back, so the number of depositors began to grow like an avalanche. Of course, payments quickly stopped and by the end of 2020, dozens of reports of fraud began to arrive at the police.

Criminal cases were opened in early January 2021 under article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud" and part 2 of article 172.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Organization of activities to attract funds and (or) other property."

As previously reported, the depositors of the pyramid have lost hundreds of millions of rubles - people collected payments from entire villages, took out loans from banks and borrowed money from relatives and friends.
