According to him, the specialists of the Gamali Center tested the serum of people vaccinated with "Sputnik V" and found that in the case of "omicron" the effectiveness of the drug "slightly decreases." However, with revaccination, the body forms a reliable defense against this strain of coronavirus.

"Therefore, today it is extremely important to receive a booster dose after six months in order to protect yourself," Murashko emphasized (quoted by TASS).

The minister also said that after infection with omicron, people show symptoms similar to the flu. The department is now developing new recommendations for the treatment of COVID-19 caused by the new strain.

At the moment, 41 cases of infection with the omicron strain have been confirmed in Russia. The patients are in the hospital under the supervision of doctors, 16 patients have already recovered. Also, another 300 people who had contact with them were isolated.
