Earlier in Kostroma, the sculpture of the Snow Maiden, which appeared on Magistralnaya Street, frightened local residents. In social networks, residents of Kostroma said that the monument made of wire glows in the dark and frightens children. Some have compared the Snow Maiden with the statue of Alenka in Novovoronezh, which also caused a wave of indignation.

The city administration called Snegurochka the symbol of Kostroma and said that they ordered the figure two years ago.
