Booker Prize laureate Keri Hume passed away

New Zealand writer Keri Hume, whose 1984 novel Skeleton Men won the Booker Prize, has died at the age of 74. It is reported by the Washington Post.

Family members confirmed that Hume died in Weimath on New Zealand's South Island. They did not give a reason.

She wrote her book "Skeletal People" for almost 20 years. In the plot of the work, themes of personal and cultural isolation are intertwined.

“For her, writing was never a matter of fame. She has always been a storyteller. It wasn't about glitz and glamor (or), she just had stories to share, ”said her nephew Matthew Salmons.
