Maori woman becomes the world's first TV presenter with a tattoo on her face

New Zealand's Orini Kaipara has become the world's first news anchor with a face tattoo, Unilad reported.

According to media reports, Orini is from the Maori indigenous people of New Zealand, who wear distinctive tattoos on the body and face. As Kaipara said, she got a tattoo in 2017 and did not think that she would ever be allowed to go live.

However, in 2021, the woman got a job as a news anchor on the Newshub Live television channel, working day shifts, and real fame came to her on December 27. Orini's colleague was unable to go to work, so Kaipara urgently replaced him, going live in prime time.

"I'm speechless. I am proud to be a news presenter at six o'clock in the evening, ”the TV presenter admitted.

Orini now hopes to be moved to the evening broadcast - it would be a big step forward for her.

“Don't let your identity or your culture limit you. Use it as strength to do great things, ”advised Orini.

Earlier, the hand of a US resident was covered with warts after getting a tattoo.
