Russia (bbabo.net), - On the eve of the New Year, the Medical Center for Aid and Rescue in Krasnoturinsk celebrated its first anniversary. The staff and patients received.jpgts for the double holiday.

- A unique medical facility built and equipped with the latest technology. During the year, about a thousand patients from Krasnoturyinsk and the entire Northern District were cured here. This is the merit of the staff of the institution. And I consider these people heroes without embellishment. On behalf of the residents of our city, I express my sincere gratitude to them for saving lives every day, - said the head of Krasnoturyinsk, Alexander Ustinov.

As a reminder, a new medical facility in Krasnoturyinsk was funded by RUSAL and is intended to treat patients with COVID-19 and community-acquired pneumonia. In the midst of the pandemic, this was very important for the city, because there was simply no infectious diseases department at the local hospital. Now all the conditions for high-quality medical care have been created here - the most modern equipment, comfortable wards. "Like a good hotel!" - the patients themselves admire.

During the year, 946 residents of the northern municipalities of the Sverdlovsk region received treatment for COVID-19 at the Krasnoturyinsk Medical Center for Assistance and Rescue. The oldest patient saved here is 97 years old. The average duration of treatment is 11 days, the longest struggle for the patient's life lasted 63 days. The institution performs an average of 23 CT examinations per day. The city authorities emphasize: without the support of the city-forming enterprise, the Bogoslovsky aluminum plant (BAZ), this would be impossible. Given the remoteness from large cities, for many patients, the opening of the center was the only chance of salvation.

The initiative for systemic support of regional medicine in remote areas experiencing an acute shortage of qualified care belonged to the founder of the aluminum holding Oleg Deripaska. In total, RUSAL has built seven such medical centers in the Urals and Siberia. The company allocated about four billion rubles for their construction and equipping with the necessary equipment, including computer tomographs, expert-class ultrasound machines, oxygen stations, laboratory and functional diagnostics machines.

Since the solution of this problem in the context of a pandemic has become especially relevant, the projects were implemented as soon as possible - in 6-7 months. Over the year, doctors at medical centers that industrialists donated to local hospitals have saved more than 13.5 thousand people.

In 2021, RUSAL additionally donated oxygen concentrators and stations for the rescue of critically ill patients to medical institutions. In addition, with the assistance of the company, online seminars are regularly held for medical personnel on the most advanced methods of treating COVID-19.

In the north of the Sverdlovsk Region, RUSAL also continues to help doctors fight the new coronavirus infection. In the near future, in the Krasnoturyinsk center, work will be completed on the redevelopment of the premises for the installation of a second tomograph, which will allow more accurate diagnostics. Cooperation with federal clinics will continue to improve the skills of local doctors in full-time and online formats. Also, BAZ regularly purchases personal protective equipment and medicines for the medical center.
