Belavia canceled flight from Minsk to Alma-Ata

The flight of the Belarusian airline "Belavia" from Minsk to Alma-Ata, scheduled for the evening of January 5, has been canceled. This is reported on the departure and arrival boards on the airline's website.

"Flight B2 767 to Almaty ... 20.05 canceled," the board says.

At the same time, check-in for a flight to Alma-Ata began earlier at the Minsk airport.

Earlier, the Almaty International Airport confirmed that the protesters had seized the building.

Prior to that, the airport in the Kazakh city of Aktau suspended operations, and late flights were canceled at the Nur-Sultan airport due to the curfew.

In Kazakhstan, protests began on January 2 in the city of Zhanaozen, Mangistau Oblast, after the price for a liter of liquefied gas increased to 120 tenge (about 21 rubles). Before that, the price for a liter of gas was 60 tenge. Two days later, clashes between protesters and the police and the military began in Almaty and a number of other cities.
