Former Celtic coach Wim Jansen dies at 75

Former Celtic and Feyenoord coach Wim Jansen died on Tuesday at the age of 76, according to the press service of the Scottish club.

Jansen spent almost his entire playing career at Feyenoord (1965-1980), with whom he won the Dutch championship four times and won the UEFA Cup. He also played for Washington and Ajax.

After the end of his playing career, Jansen was the coach of Feyenoord, the Belgian Lokeren, Hiroshima and Celtic, he worked in the coaching staff of the Saudi Arabia national team.

Olympic football champion Hans-Jurgen Derner dies Football Jansen played 65 matches for the Netherlands national team, in which he twice became the silver medalist of the World Championships (1974, 1978) and the bronze medalist of Euro 1976.

With Celtic, Jansen worked for one season (1997-1998), becoming the first coach of a team not from Great Britain and Ireland. He brought Henrik Larsson to the team and won the championship and the Scottish League Cup with the team, at the same time preventing Glasgow Rangers from becoming champions for the tenth time in a row.

Recently, Jansen suffered from dementia, the BBC notes.
