Our football lies on its side. Expert

Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan Pavel Cherepanov in an interview with bbabo.net spoke about the nomination of David Loria for the post of President of the Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF). He also commented on why Kairat Boranbaev, the owner of Almaty's Kairat, is not ready to head the KFF.

- Pavel Petrovich, it became known that David Loria has put forward his candidacy for the post of KFF President. How do you feel about this news?

- I know David for a long time, I treat him with respect. One of the first to congratulate him on his appointment to the Political Council of the Nur Otan Party.

All the more was my surprise when I found out that he was applying for the position of the President of the KFF. The fact is that in the football environment such an act is called "going to a living place." Adilbek Ryskeldinovich did not resign his powers. According to the Charter of the Federation, there is a certain procedure. It must be observed. For example, if the President submits an application to release him from office. Therefore, there is no need to "run ahead of the locomotive."

One gets the impression that Loria considers membership in the party as a preferential pass to the post. If David would apply for the position, for example, of the chief marketing manager, then his desire to develop domestic football can only be welcomed. Or he would express a desire to revive the work of the Training Centers, so that highly qualified football players would really be brought up there. I could invite my friend and my best student Ali Aliyev to help. In case of success, in five years, the football community would bring them into the federation in their hands.

Training centers and academies are the future of our football. In addition, five years is enough time to learn to speak Kazakh well.

Our football "lies on its side", and David does not have a positive experience of a crisis manager. But he wrote a letter to the President of the country, in which he justifies himself for the failure of "Astana" in the championship and European competitions. There is still a burning desire to steer our football. It turns out that the set of arguments to apply for such a responsible position is scarce.

- But Loria is almost the only one in our football environment who is studying at UEFA, he has a rich, including international, experience as a player, he looks at the development of football with a modern look. Is this not an argument in favor of his candidacy?

- I know that he is studying under the UEFA MIP program, created for former players of the management training teams. Arshavin studies with him, who is slowly led up the administrative ladder at Zenit so that he knows the whole structure and work of the club from the inside, in practice. He started with the academy and is not applying for the position of general director now, but he will definitely be. The position of David differs significantly from the position of Arshavin.

In his address to the public, he says: “Since I retired as a player, I have often been approached by fans from all over Kazakhstan. I often hear a call from them to help our football reach a new level, so I decided to put forward my candidacy to the post of President of the Kazakhstan Football Federation. I feel the trust of fans, specialists, colleagues. And I am sure that I can justify their trust."

This is pure populism. And further: "All I can offer is my knowledge and my attitude. But perhaps this is exactly what we need now. Over 20 years at UEFA, we have gained invaluable experience. We need to use it, establish international relations and squeeze the most out of everyone forms of cooperation.

As they say, good luck. The Training Centers have an immense front of work: what to teach, how to teach, how to educate and control the quality of training of football players. It is possible not to talk much about intentions, about mythical invaluable experience, about voices from all over Kazakhstan, but to show skills and knowledge in practice, in the process of specific, very important work for our football. It can be assumed that David's self-nomination is not accidental.

Very similar to "telephone law". If this is so, then we must not forget that the KFF is a public organization and organizes its activities according to the UEFA Charter, which has an option that excludes the influence of the state on the activities of the federation.

It is known from the press that on February 28 a re-election conference will be held. I admit, there are other applicants who will collect a bunch of signatures and petitions. There will certainly be those who "keep their nose to the wind" and vote as they should.

Here you have a new president, without prior notice! Without the experience necessary for such a position, without a well-thought-out strategy for the development of football in the country in all directions, without a roadmap for solving urgent problems.

I hope for the wisdom of the members of the Executive Committee, who are authorized to make important and significant decisions for Kazakhstani football.

- You said that there are likely to be other contenders for the position of KFF President. Why don't businessmen and independent people want to lead the KFF? After all, besides Kairat Boranbaev, according to rumors, Berik Kaniyev refused to nominate his candidacy.- Do not believe in rumors and fakes. It is best to ask Kairat Sovetaevich and Berik Seralievich about this. I don’t know the reasons, but guessing and making some assumptions, answering this kind of question, is a thankless task.

- Do you think that certain changes in the work and structure of the KFF are necessary?

- In the current strategy for the development of football in Kazakhstan, which expires this year, it is written that the performance of national teams in official competitions is an indicator of the development of football in the country.

The results of all our national teams are well known. Here is a complete failure. If this circumstance is taken as a call to action, then changes can occur. Perhaps soon, at the conference on February 28th.

Recall that the President of the KFF is Adilbek Dzhaksybekov. Previously, he headed the federation from 2007 to 2014, and in 2018 he returned to this post.
