US women's hockey team forward Brianna Dekker will miss the remainder of the Beijing Olympics with an injury, R-Sport reports citing ESPN.

Dekker was injured in a collision with Ronja Savolainen in the middle of the first period of the group stage match against Finland (5:2). Brianna was carried off the set on a stretcher. After she watched the game, standing on crutches.

Dekker is the assistant captain of the US team. At the 2014 Olympics, she won the silver medal, and won gold at the 2018 Games.

In the next game of the hockey tournament, the US team will meet with Russia. The meeting will take place on February 5th.
