Russia (bbabo.net), - Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Yulia Stupak, Natalya Nepryaeva, Tatyana Sorina, Veronika Stepanova on their well-deserved Olympic gold in the 4x5 km relay cross-country skiing.
"Incredible willpower, team cohesion, the desire to fight to the end, to the last seconds, helped you literally snatch victory from serious and experienced rivals, convincingly confirm your leadership qualities," the Kremlin's website says in a congratulatory telegram.
The President wished them further victories and stressed that the athletes "justified the hopes of their coaches, mentors, teammates and, of course, all Russian fans who followed your exciting performance with hope."
The Russian women's cross-country skiing team won the third gold for Russia by winning the 4x5 km relay at the Beijing Olympics.
