The Russian team beat Denmark at the Olympic hockey tournament

Russia (bbabo.net), - The Russian team won the second victory at the men's Olympic hockey tournament. Alexey Zhamnov's team beat Denmark - 2:0.

Despite the starting victory over the Swiss (1:0), in the first match, our team, to put it mildly, did not impress. The head coach of the Russians Alexei Zhamnov explained the nondescript game with excitement, stylistic inconvenience of the opponent and a long absence of match practice. Like, be patient, you will have both creativity and combination hockey.

I wanted to see all this already in today's match against the Danes. But it was definitely not worth counting on an easy walk. The Czechs, who sensationally lost to the Scandinavians at the start of the Olympic tournament (1:2), will not lie. And yet, they expected a breakthrough in the game from the Russian team. Therefore, the first period of the match with Denmark disappointed no less than the previous match with Switzerland. It seems that our hockey players have changed only the color of their sweaters - from red to white. At the same time, just as there was no thought in the game, it did not appear. What happened on the ice best reflected the ratio of shots on target to the middle of the first period - 2:1 in favor of the Danes.

In the first period, the Russians managed to really gain a foothold in the opponent's zone only twice. When the Danes remained in the minority and already at the very end of the 20-minute period. True, it did not lead to anything.

During the break, our coaching staff made adjustments to the links. Vladimir Tkachev was transferred from the fourth to the second, and Kirill Semenov proceeded in the opposite direction. Opportunities for scoring the Russians began to emerge more. At the start of the second period, the Danes played in the minority for almost four minutes in a row, but this did not give us anything but a tangible advantage in shots. By the way, the Scandinavians themselves did not disturb our goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov with throws at all.

At the 29th minute, ours still opened the scoring. The goal turned out to be a worker-peasant one, which fully characterizes the style of play of this team. Anton Slepyshev threw, and Pavel Karnaukhov finished off the puck into the net on the second attempt - 1:0.

This goal remained the only one for almost the rest of the match. Already at the very end, the Danes removed the goalkeeper, and Kirill Semenov doubled our advantage. The Russians will play the next match tomorrow against the Czechs.
