Skier Samuel Ikpefan from Nigeria posted a photo with the champion of the 2022 Olympics in the skiathlon - Alexander Bolshunov from Russia, bbabo.net reports.
The Nigerian skier, who is the only African representative at the tournament, shared the photo on his Instagram with the following description:
"In this photo, an Olympic champion, a friend, and a Nigerian skier, two countries that are opposed to each other, but have the same passion and goal. Have fun and give your best in every race!" Ikpefan noted.
It should be noted that in the race for 15 kilometers in the classical style, in addition to the Nigerian and the Russian, 97 more athletes will perform, including representatives of Kazakhstan Vitaly Pukhkalo and Evgeny Velichko. The start of the race is scheduled for 13:00 Nur-Sultan time.
