ISU respectfully accepts court decision in Valieva's case

The International Skating Union (ISU) respects the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to allow Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva to participate in the individual tournament at the Beijing Olympics, despite a positive doping test. This is stated in the ISU statement, published on the official website of the organization.

"The ISU has duly noted and will respect the court's decision, namely that Valieva's suspension remains vacated," the statement said. — The ISU is awaiting justification for the court's decision. The Union needs time to evaluate before making any further comments."

The away panel of the CAS upheld the removal of the provisional suspension from figure skater Kamila Valieva and allowed her to compete further. This decision was published on 14 February. Earlier, the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (NOC) expressed disappointment with the CAS decision.
