Then Alexander Bolshunov increased the lead to 50 seconds and passed the baton to silver medalist Denis Spitsov. The third rider in the team managed not only to lose the lead, but also increased it to almost one minute. At the final stage, the Norwegian Johannes Klebo began to close the gap from the Russian finisher Sergei Ustyugov, but the Norwegian could not get closer to the Russian. Ustyugov alone and with the flag finished first.

Failure in women's biathlon
Norwegian athlete Marte Røiseland came first to the finish line in the biathlon pursuit at the Beijing Olympics. The best of the Russians was Uliana Nigmatullina, who took 11th place with a score of 37:33.2 (three misses). Other Russians showed the following results:
