Russia (bbabo.net), - The authorities of the Southern Urals supported the reconstruction project of the motorsport complex "Route 74", located near the former city dump. Its reclamation was recently completed in the regional center. At the selected site, it is planned to install stands, equip tracks, a lane for pair races, and construct a building for a technical park. As conceived by the authors of the project, such a global upgrade of the infrastructure will make it possible to include the finished complex in the All-Russian Register of Sports Facilities, and then Chelyabinsk will be able to host major automobile competitions of various levels - karting, drifting, drag racing, auto sprint, rally. It is planned to build a separate track for motorcyclists.
The second major facility, on which work should also begin in 2022, will be a ski-roller track, where students from the Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 5 train. and comfort. In addition to illuminated trails, an indoor complex with changing rooms, boxes for preparing ski equipment, and a semi-closed shooting range will be built on the territory. In addition, it was decided to equip tracks for beginner snowboarders.

Earlier, the authorities announced their intention to organize a sports city in the northwestern part of Chelyabinsk (on Universitetskaya embankment, near Topolinaya Alley), which will house three impressive facilities - an extreme park, a tennis center and the RMK Arena. The construction of the latter began in 2021. This is a multifunctional complex for five thousand spectators worth four billion rubles with a main arena and three multi-purpose halls for team sports - volleyball, basketball and others. A bicycle-pedestrian bridge across the Miass River will connect the sports cluster with the city forest.
