The IOC decided the fate of Russia's gold because of the doping scandal at the 2022 Olympics

The results of the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing will be considered preliminary, the same applies to the result of the Russian team in the team tournament, where Valieva took part, R-Sport reports with reference to the statement of the Communications Director of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Mark Adams.

Doping test Valieva, taken at the end of December, gave a positive result. The Court of Arbitration for Sport allowed the skater to participate in the individual Olympic tournament in Beijing. However, the awards ceremony, if Valieva gets into the top three, will not be held during the Olympics, it will take place after the end of the investigation into the case of the Russian figure skater. Earlier, the awards ceremony for the winners of team competitions was postponed indefinitely.

"The result of Valieva will be considered preliminary and will be accepted with an asterisk," Adams said at a press conference. "I assume that the same applies to the results of the team tournament."

Recall that earlier the head of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), Travis Tygart, said that three drugs were found in Valieva's doping test.

The Russian became the champion of the 2022 Games in the team tournament, and after the doping scandal she became the best in the short program. The tournament among women in the free program will be held on February 17.
