Russia ranks second in the total number of medals at the Olympics

Russia (bbabo.net), - Russian athletes won four medals on Wednesday at the Beijing Olympics - one silver and three bronze.

The biathletes who took second in the relay were the first to take the award. The medal of our team was brought by Kristina Reztsova, Irina Kazakevich, Ulyana Nigmatullina and Svetlana Mironova. The victory was won by the Swedes, the representatives of Germany closed the top three.

Bronze medals in team sprints in cross-country skiing were won by Natalya Nepryaeva and Yulia Stupak in women and Alexander Bolshunov and Alexander Terentyev in men. By the way, our team has set a record for the number of medals won at the Games: in Beijing, skiers have already won nine awards (three gold, silver and bronze each). Thus, the Russians surpassed their own result of the 1998 Olympics in Japanese Nagano (5-2-1) and Pyeongchang-2018 (0-3-5).

Finally, freestyler Ilya Burov took bronze in ski acrobatics: he received 114.93 points for the jump in the final, losing only to Chinese Qi Guangpu (129.00 points) and Ukrainian Alexander Abramenko (116.50).

In total, at the moment, the Russian team has 24 medals at the Beijing Olympics: four gold, eight silver and 12 bronze. In terms of the total number of awards, our team is second only to Norway (28).
