Kazakh short track skater Olga Tikhonova competed in the quarterfinals of the 1500m at the 2022 Olympics, bbabo.net reports.
Tikhonova was represented in the third group along with five other athletes. The Kazakhstani finished fourth in 2:23.48. In certain scenarios with this time, she claimed to reach the semi-finals.
However, after the video review, the Kazakhstani woman was disqualified for contact with her opponent and ended the fight for medals.
In Beijing 2022, Tikhonova took 24th place in the 1000 meters and also became fifth in the mixed relay.
