Valieva had to seek participation in the individual competitions of the Olympics in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The IOC said that if Valieva gets into the prize-winners, the awards ceremony will not be held, while the results in women's single skating will be "with an asterisk" until the end of the investigation into the Russian woman's case.

Free skaters will present at the Games on February 17. Russians Anna Shcherbakova and Alexandra Trusova after the short program are in second and fourth places, respectively.
