Russia (bbabo.net), - A pilot project "Wrestling in schools" will be launched in the Khabarovsk Territory. Thanks to him, wrestling classes may appear in educational institutions. Schools will be able to choose the format that suits them: physical education lessons, extracurricular activities or training in the additional education system.
The project will be implemented within the framework of an agreement between the regional government and the Russian Wrestling Federation.
- As Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin noted: "Wrestling is one of the oldest sports, traditional for many peoples of Russia." With its help, the qualities of a real man are formed, character is tempered, and the health of adolescents is strengthened. And I am sincerely glad that now these classes will be available in schools as part of the subject "physical education", - said the governor of the region Mikhail Degtyarev at a meeting with the president of the Federal Security Service Mikhail Mamiashvili.
The head of the federation, in turn, noted that the project would be fully supported, because organizing the employment of children, getting them interested in sports and physical culture is the main task of the public organization.
In the Khabarovsk Territory, this sport is already actively developing. Last year, the regional martial arts palace was opened, where you can engage in, among other things, wrestling. The region hosted the championship of Russia in Greco-Roman wrestling among juniors. And local athletes successfully perform at the world's largest competitions.
