Poland, Czech Republic and Sweden refused to travel to Moscow for World Cup play-offs

The football unions of Poland and Sweden, as well as the Czech Football Association, issued a joint statement against holding the 2022 World Cup play-offs in Moscow due to the situation in Ukraine. This was reported in a statement by the Polish Union.

The signatories of the document believe that, for security reasons, playoff matches for the right to play at the 2022 World Cup should not be held in Russia.

UEFA condemned the special operation of Russian troops in Ukraine Football National teams of Poland, the Czech Republic and Sweden do not intend to go to Russia and play matches there. The football associations of the countries expect that FIFA and UEFA will respond immediately and find an alternative venue for the play-offs.

In case of victory in the semi-finals, the Russian team should also be the host of the field in the final playoff match on March 29, which will also include the strongest in the confrontation between the teams of Sweden and the Czech Republic.
