“To be honest, I learned about this whole story from the press, and until that moment I was not familiar with the details of this investigation. Apparently, we are talking about some kind of legal procedure that was initiated a year ago, when the managing director of Abacanto there was another person, while I performed purely sports functions until the summer of 2021. Officially, after a certain break, I returned to work with the team in January of this year, so it’s difficult for me to comment on this issue," Vinokurov said.

Recall that the Olympic champion was dismissed from the post of general manager of the cycling team in June 2021, before that he had only performed sports functions for some time. And in August, the new leadership announced his return. Since 2022, Vinokurov has again taken over all the functions of recruiting riders and staff, as well as all sports activities of the project.
