The Yermolova Theater canceled the performance that caused a dispute with the director Dolin

Theatre. Yermolova canceled the premiere of the play "Twelfth Night, or Anything", because of which the leadership of the cultural institution had a dispute with director Oleg Dolin.

According to the theatre's press service, on January 28, all participants in the play "Twelfth Night, or Anything" made a joint decision to stop rehearsals and cancel the premiere. “A situation has developed around the performance that is absolutely incompatible with creativity,” the TASS theater quotes the message. The theater expressed the hope that the existing ensemble of actors will continue and implement new projects, and thanked the audience who kept the tickets. “We are very sorry that the holiday will not take place. We believe in new meetings with you and are always waiting in the auditorium,” the press service noted.

The premiere was to take place in February 2022. Oleg Menshikov, Alexander Petrov, Alexandra Bortich, Anton Lapenko and other artists worked on the production.

Previously, director Oleg Dolin in an open letter to the artistic director of the Theater. Yermolova Oleg Menshikov said that he did not understand the reasons for the suspension from work on the play. He also said that he was fired "by SMS." In response to the letter, Menshikov himself accused Dolin of "baseness" and stated that he was "not shaking hands" for him.
