Russia - An exhibition in Kirov presented the Vyatka teachers of the XIX

Russia (bbabo.net), - In the Alexander Grin Museum (a branch of the Kirov Regional Museum of Local Lore, KOCM) there is an exhibition dedicated to the Vyatka teachers of the late 19th - early 20th centuries. In total, it presents more than 80 exhibits from both the KOKM funds and the museums of Nolinsk and Urzhum, and almost all of them are originals.

- The exhibits will help to present the collective image of the teacher of those years, his historical, cultural and everyday portrait. Visitors will see what the school mentors looked like, how they dressed, what were the conditions of their work. For example, the teaching staff of gymnasiums and schools had a uniform uniform, and in order to take the position of a home teacher, an "oath promise" was made, - says Nadezhda Ponomareva, a museum employee.

It will be interesting for modern children to see the school supplies and instruments that teachers used to explain the educational material: a century-old dynamometer, manometer, ammeter, goniometer ... And here is the astrolabe - an instrument that served to measure horizontal angles and determine the latitude and longitude of celestial bodies. Based on the principle of stereographic projection.

In the same room, photographic portraits of teachers, directors of gymnasiums in the Vyatka province are presented. Among them is Ivan Stepanovich Derenkov, Alexander Grin's teacher. The glass showcases contain buttons from the beginning of the 20th century, cufflinks, tie clips that teachers used in their clothes. What dandies the men were!

In another hall, a corner of the needlework class was recreated, where samples of embroidery and knitting, created by the hands of teachers and students, are placed. Home economics lessons were mandatory at that time. Here in the windows there are textbooks that you want to get, smell the last century, feel the era and flip through the pages ... But you can’t.
