Trade between Russia and China grew by 35.8% in 2021

The trade turnover between Russia and China in 2021 increased by 35.8% and reached a record $146.88 billion, TASS reports with reference to the Main Customs Administration of China.

According to customs data, exports to Russia last year increased by 33.8% and amounted to about $67.56 billion, while imports of Russian goods and services increased by 37.5% to $79.32 billion.

“In 2021, our country's foreign trade volume amounted to $6.05 trillion, reaching a new historical mark,” said Li Kuiwen, head of the Statistical Analysis Department of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China. He noted that in the context of the pandemic, China continues to lead in this indicator among all other countries.

Trade between China and the United States increased by 28.7% in 2021, amounting to $755.64 billion. PRC exports to the United States increased by 27.5%, to $576.11 billion, while imports of American products increased by 32.7%, to $179.53 billion

Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said during a briefing that the Chinese authorities highly appreciate Russian President Vladimir Putin's statement on the development of Sino-Russian relations and have positive expectations for cooperation in 2022.

According to him, Beijing and Moscow should continue their back-to-back strategic cooperation, strengthening the practical part in various areas. Only with active interaction, according to Hanhui, will it be possible to respond productively to the actions of the West and Washington.
