The Ministry of Agriculture responded to reports of an increase in prices for sweets

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation commented on the information about the massive increase in the price of confectionery products in Russia, Izvestia writes.

The department emphasized that there is no mass trend to increase the cost of sweets in Russia. However, the ministry pointed out that individual cases of revision of prices for certain products of specific manufacturers are possible on the market.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, despite a significant increase in costs, confectionery manufacturers are holding back a sharp rise in prices for their products. Thus, the dynamics of producer prices for flour and eggs did not exceed the rate of inflation, the ministry said.

Earlier, Izvestia reported that the five largest confectionery manufacturers had notified retail chains of price increases from February 1. According to information, we are talking about such manufacturers as Mondelez, Ferrero, United Confectioners, Khlebprom and Slavyanka.
