Moldova (bbabo.net), - The Head of Gagauzia, Irina Vlah, registered with the Government two initiatives regarding the allocation of additional funds to cover the needs of educational institutions and budgetary institutions of the Republic of Moldova. The first document proposes to increase the financial standards for nutrition in schools and kindergartens in the country. For example, the food allowance for students in grades I-IV will increase from 10.80 lei to 12.43 lei per day per child, gagauzinfo.md ​​reports.

The need to make appropriate amendments is dictated by a sharp increase in prices and forecasts of the National Bank, according to which inflation in 2022 in Moldova will be 15.1 percent. At the same time, the current norms for the nutrition of children in schools have not changed since 2019. This situation will inevitably lead to the fact that the heads of institutions will be forced to save on the nutrition of children.

To cover the additional needs for the nutrition of children, it will be necessary to allocate funds from the state budget in the amount of 103 million 500 thousand lei.

The second initiative of the Head of Gagauzia concerns covering the deficit of financial resources in the budgetary institutions of Moldova due to a 2.4-fold increase in natural gas tariffs. We are talking about the costs of hospitals, schools and other organizations for heating. According to the calculations of the Executive Committee of Gagauzia, natural gas supplies to the country's budgetary institutions in 2022 will amount to more than 52 million cubic meters, and the amount payable will be 573 million 552 thousand 833 lei.

At the same time, the increase in natural gas tariffs in the Moldovan budget for 2022 was not reflected, which is why the deficit of funds to pay heating bills for all budgetary organizations of the country will amount to 331 million 778 thousand 600 lei. Only in Gagauzia, the deficit will be more than 20 million lei.

The bill submitted by the Head of Gagauzia to the Cabinet of Ministers proposes to increase the revenue and expenditure parts of the national budget by 331 million 779 thousand lei to cover the deficit of all budgetary institutions of the Republic of Moldova. Failure to take these measures will have severe social and economic consequences for the Republic of Moldova. Public institutions, including hospitals, schools, kindergartens, will be forced to save on heating, which will negatively affect the health of children, employees, patients of healthcare facilities and other categories of the population.
