Russia - Bloomberg experts: Middle East countries do not compensate Russian gas for Europe

Russia (bbabo.net), - In the event that the European Union refuses Russian fuel, the countries of the Middle East will not be able to fully compensate for gas supplies to Europe. Bloombe writes about it.

The authors of the article note that a number of energy-rich countries, including Azerbaijan and Qatar, promised to supply the European Union with the necessary raw materials. However, it turned out that they could not replace the leading exporter - Russia.

“Europe has no alternative to Russian gas. You will have to redirect half of the LNG consumed by Asia to reach the level of supplies from Gazprom,” Ron Smith, senior analyst at BCS Global Markets, said. According to him, this could lead to massive fuel shortages and the spread of the energy crisis throughout the Asian continent.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that in March Russia would restore oil production by 90% of the volume reduced in May 2020. According to him, our country strictly follows the terms of the OPEC+ deal. The level of its implementation is close to 100%, and the overall level of implementation of the agreement by all countries in December was 122%. At the same time, as Novak noted, many uncertainties remain on the market, including those associated with the Omicron strain.
