In the United States, they were afraid of problems with the supply of materials for microchips from Russia

The White House has warned microchip makers about possible disruptions in the supply of components from Russia if Moscow retaliates against US sanctions due to the escalation in Ukraine. This was reported by Reuters, citing sources.

“We understand that other sources of key products are available and are ready to work with our companies to help them identify and diversify supply,” the agency’s source said.

The White House fears are related to the result of a study by the Techcet group, which showed the dependence of many microchip manufacturers on materials from Russia. The study says that 35% of the palladium in the US comes from Russia, and more than 90% of the neon comes from Ukraine, where it is brought from Russia to be refined.

Earlier, the author of the “mother of all sanctions” against the Russian Federation, the head of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Bob Menendez, said that the development of the bill had reached a dead end. Now congressmen are looking for other restrictions for Russia in the event of its invasion of Ukraine.

The West has repeatedly accused Russia of the impending "invasion" of the territory of Ukraine. As an argument, Western politicians use the fact that the Russian Federation has allegedly increased its presence in the border zones with Ukraine - up to 125,000 soldiers.

Moscow denies all accusations and emphasizes that any movement of troops across the country is a sovereign matter. NATO and the alliance's allies think otherwise and are preparing a package of sanctions in the event of an invasion.
