In Russia, there are several types of seniority: insurance, general seniority, and "special seniority". This was told to the agency "Prime" in the department of the Pension Fund (PFR) in the city of Moscow and the Moscow region.
Insurance experience, indicated in the department, is necessary to determine the right to an insurance pension. So, in 2022, 13 years of service are required to retire. It takes into account those types of activities for which insurance premiums were accrued and paid to the FIU.
Other (non-insurance) periods that can be counted in the insurance period, recalled in the fund, are listed in Article 12 of the Federal Law "On Insurance Pensions". So, these include the period of military service, the period of care of one parent for each child up to one and a half years, but not more than six years in total, the period of receiving unemployment benefits.
The total length of service is considered as the sum of labor and other socially useful activities, but it is taken into account only when determining the estimated amount of the pension when assessing pension rights as of January 1, 2002. Since 2002, the concept of “general seniority” has not been applied,” the Pension Fund said.
The “special length of service” includes certain types of work that give the right to an early pension. For example, teaching, medical, creative, as well as work with harmful working conditions and in hot shops.
Previously, a way was named to make up for the lack of seniority for a pension.
