Russia - The Federal Tax Service disclosed how much money the budget received from taxes on large salaries

Russia (bbabo.net), - In 2021, the federal budget received 82.7 billion rubles due to an increased tax on the income of Russians over five million rubles a year. It is reported by RBC with reference to the data of the Federal Tax Service.

The publication notes that more than half of this amount - 44.47 billion rubles - was collected in Moscow. The top three also included St. Petersburg (7.59 billion) and the Moscow region (4.26 billion).

The number of payers of the increased personal income tax rate in the Federal Tax Service is not disclosed.

An increased tax on incomes over five million rubles a year is effective in Russia from January 1, 2021. Such income is subject to personal income tax at a rate of 15%. At the same time, the law does not apply to lump-sum income (for example, the sale of property, except for securities, or insurance payments).

All funds collected within the framework of the law are allocated by the state for the treatment of children with severe, chronic and rare diseases.
