Russia - Muscovites get rights to dorm rooms

Russia (bbabo.net), - More than 25,000 families live in 247 dormitories left in the capital from Soviet times. A room there, of course, is not an apartment, but for many, losing it means being left without a roof over your head. To prevent this from happening, the city is in the process of registering the rights of residents to the meters they occupy.

In particular, only last year, Muscovites received legal grounds for living in 469 rooms. Most of them have entered into social and short-term employment contracts with the city. But there are those who have drawn up sale and purchase agreements, immediately becoming the owner of square meters. This was told by the head of the department of city property Maxim Gaman. According to him, only in the past year, 343 families have registered the rights to the rooms.

This work in Moscow began to be engaged on a permanent basis since 2012 - the necessary documents have already been completed by 86 percent of the residents. Many dormitories used to belong to enterprises that have long ceased to exist. These buildings were handed over to Moscow, so it puts them in order. At the same time, some tenants did not have any papers for the right to live. Someone lost their documents, someone had them drawn up incorrectly - in a word, people lived almost all their lives in dormitories and worked in the factories and plants that owned them, but in they turned out to be sort of illegal immigrants. Therefore, paperwork sometimes turns into a quest, but most still manage to pass it. "In total, more than 22 thousand families have already received documents for rooms," Gaman confirms.

Last year alone, 343 families registered their room rights

But about 600 rooms in the former dormitories had to be vacated by the residents, as they could not prove their right to reside in any way, the department says. Now neighbors can get these premises. "For those who are registered with the housing, this gives them the right to attach a room under a social tenancy agreement, and buy the rest," the department explained.

By the way

You can see the instructions for registering the rights to rooms in former dormitories on the website of the mayor's office mos.ru. This issue is regulated by the Decree of the Government of Moscow of December 19, 2012 N 743-PP.
