The Federal Tax Service (FTS) has allowed Russians to pay taxes using an individual taxpayer number (TIN). Vedomosti writes about this, referring to the thematic brochure of the department.
The new tax payment mechanism will be similar to the Fast Payment System (FPS) developed by the Central Bank. Under this system, bank customers can make transfers to each other by phone number. In turn, the Federal Tax Service has developed its own project - the Single Tax Account (UST). Thanks to him, several taxes can be paid at a time.
The TIN will serve as the main identifier in the UNS. The payment function for it will be specially integrated on the website of the Federal Tax Service in the personal account of the taxpayer. There you can set up automatic payment and get detailed information on previously paid taxes.
It is planned to implement the new mechanism by 2023. A corresponding bill has already been submitted to the State Duma. In addition, it is proposed to establish a single day for paying taxes - the 25th day of each month.
On January 24, the Federal Tax Service announced that the need to pay personal income tax on bank deposits depends on the total interest income for the year, and not on the size of the deposits. The tax will be charged on the total interest income on existing deposits paid to individuals during 2021, minus the amount that is not taxed.
