Yandex holds leadership in the e-grocery segment for the second year in a row

At the end of 2021, the turnover (GMV) of Yandex e-grocery reached a record 57.5 billion rubles. This metric includes the Yandex.Market consumer goods vertical, data from Yandex.Lavka in Russia, and Yandex.Food retail, and accounts for a third of the GMV of all Yandex ecommerce services.

For comparison, the revenue of digital businesses of X5 Retail Group in FY2021 grew by 140.0% and amounted to 47.9 billion rubles.

It is worth noting that in 2020, the turnover of Yandex e-grocery amounted to 24 billion rubles, and in the fourth quarter of 2021, the figure increased by 119% compared to the same period in 2020 (up to 18.2 billion rubles).
