Russia - Austria will soften the entry rules for Russian tourists from February 22

Russia (bbabo.net), - From February 22, Austrian authorities will allow Russian tourists to enter the country if they have a negative PCR test for coronavirus infection. This was reported by the Ministry of Tourism of Austria. According to them, it will be enough to present only this analysis, writes TASS.

Austria officially opened its borders to Russian citizens on August 15 last year. Since mid-December, the country has been welcoming tourists to Tyrol, Vorarlberg and Burgenland, and has also opened hotels and restaurants in Salzburg, Styria, Carinthia and other popular destinations. Tourist establishments in Vienna opened on 20 December.

Previously, upon entry, the authorities required a certificate of covid-19 in the last six months (the Russian certificate of the transferred COVID-19 is valid there) or a certificate of vaccination with drugs approved by WHO (Russian Sputnik and other vaccines of the Russian Federation are not recognized by Austria). Also, Russian citizens upon arrival were required to serve quarantine for ten days, but its period could be reduced to five days in the event of a negative PCR test upon arrival. At the same time, PCR was not a document allowing check-in at a hotel and allowing access to public places.

On the eve of the Austrian government announced the abolition of almost all covid restrictions from March 5. So, catering will be able to work again at night, access to public places will be open to everyone, and "green passports" for vaccination will no longer be valid. In places where only people vaccinated and recovering from coronavirus were previously allowed, they will be allowed to enter with a negative PCR test starting from February 19.

At the moment, direct flights are open between Russia and Austria, and a visa application can be submitted through VFS Global centers.
