The owner of Facebook and WhatsApp flew out of the top 10 most valuable companies

Mark Zuckerberg's Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook), which owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has dropped out of the top ten largest companies in the world by capitalization. It is reported by Bloomberg.

The agency's experts calculated that from the maximum that was set in September 2021, the company's shares have already fallen by more than 45%. As a result of trading on February 17, Meta's capitalization dropped to $565 billion and now it ranks 11th among the richest companies in the world.

Its former place was taken by the Chinese company Tencent, whose capitalization was $25 billion higher. Apple remains the leader of the rating with a capitalization of $2.8 trillion.

Meta last peaked on September 1, 2021, when its market value exceeded $1 trillion and its share price was $384.33.

On February 3, Meta shares fell by more than a quarter (26%), and its capitalization at the moment fell by more than $ 200 billion. This happened after the publication of disappointing company financials.

In early February, Zuckerberg dropped out of the top 10 richest people in the world according to Forbes. Now the founder of Meta occupies the 12th line of the list.
