Borisov: Russia is determined to increase cooperation with Cuba in all areas

Russia (bbabo.net), - During his visit to Havana, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov discussed with Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas the prospects for further strengthening relations between the countries.

According to Borisov, the Russian government delegation arrived in Cuba on behalf of the President of Russia in the follow-up to the January 24 telephone conversation with the head of Cuba.

"The purpose of the visit is to further strengthen cooperation with Cuba in the widest range of areas, including trade and economic cooperation, industrial and energy cooperation," the Deputy Chairman of the Russian government said.

"We are committed to active joint work to increase bilateral trade, implement existing and new projects in all areas of bilateral cooperation," Borisov stressed.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister also touched upon the humanitarian component of interaction between the countries. He recalled that only in December 2021 - January 2022, five more flights with humanitarian aid were sent from Russia to Cuba, which delivered medicines, medicines and medical products with a total volume of 112 tons. In addition, in February, a ship sailed to Cuba with an additional humanitarian cargo - 20,000 tons of class IV wheat. "The cargo is expected to arrive in Cuba on March 3," Borisov added.
